Deaf EXperience Ltd – fun activities for deaf young people

DEX is a charity that helps deaf young people in Yorkshire meet each other and share experiences. They run two main groups:

  • DEX Deaf Youth Hub (DDYH): For ages 11–17. Free monthly activities in different places across West Yorkshire. Young people can socialise, have fun, and learn new things.
  • DEX Deaf Youth Council (DDYC): For ages 17–30. Free monthly activities, usually in West Yorkshire, for socialising and learning.

DEX also offers:

  • Advocacy support for deaf young people on different issues
  • A free 10-week introduction to British Sign Language (BSL) for deaf people under 30

Who can join?

  • Anyone under 30 with any level of hearing loss
  • Any communication method is welcome
  • Interpreters are provided at all events
