Deaf EXperience Ltd – fun activities for deaf young people
DEX is a charity that helps deaf young people in Yorkshire meet each other and share experiences. They run two main groups:
- DEX Deaf Youth Hub (DDYH): For ages 11–17. Free monthly activities in different places across West Yorkshire. Young people can socialise, have fun, and learn new things.
- DEX Deaf Youth Council (DDYC): For ages 17–30. Free monthly activities, usually in West Yorkshire, for socialising and learning.
DEX also offers:
- Advocacy support for deaf young people on different issues
- A free 10-week introduction to British Sign Language (BSL) for deaf people under 30
Who can join?
- Anyone under 30 with any level of hearing loss
- Any communication method is welcome
- Interpreters are provided at all events
