Fun activities and groups are where young people (up to 18 years old) can spend time with friends, have fun and learn new skills. Universal clubs offer children with SEND the opportunity to join sport or youth groups.
Scope work directly in supporting universal activity providers in completing Scope's Inclusive Activity Award. These services are signposted to families as inclusive activities and groups. Groups that have achieved the award will be highlighted with the award logo.
Need support attending a youth activity or group?
Scope Activities for All are commissioned to challenge and develop universal activity groups (football, gymnastics, drama, arts classes, and others) to be welcoming and inclusive to disabled children 4 to 18 years old in Leeds.
Scope does this in two ways.
- Scope employs a team of sessional workers to support children in universal activities on a short-term basis. These are not a one-to-one workers, they provide a bridging service where both the disabled child and the universal activity group receive support and establish a relationship. This is a short-term basis approach where the sessional worker withdraws, the child can continue to attend and is supported by the activity. Click here to self-refer.
- Secondly, Scope works directly in supporting universal activity providers in completing Scope's Inclusive Activity Award. These services are signposted to families as inclusive activities and great places to attend for short breaks and activities.

Max Card
The Max Card is a discount card for families of children with additional needs (0 to 25 years old). Families simply show their Max Card upon entry to a venue in order to obtain free or discounted admission.
Carers Leeds distribute max cards to families of children with additional needs in Leeds but are not responsible for Max Card.
The Max Cards cost £5 when purchasing from Carers Leeds (includes postage cost) and are valid for 2 years.
