About DEX (Deaf EXperience)
DEX is a deaf‑led charity that supports deaf children and young people across Yorkshire.
They help young people meet each other, build confidence, and feel proud of their deaf identity.
DEX has been supporting deaf young people since 1994.


Youth Groups

DEX Deaf Youth Hub (DDYH)

  • For young people aged 11–17
  • Free monthly activities in different places across West Yorkshire
  • A safe place to socialise, have fun, and share experiences

DEX Deaf Youth Council (DDYC)

  • For young adults aged 17–30
  • Free monthly activities, usually in West Yorkshire
  • A chance to meet others, learn new skills, and grow confidence


Support

  • Advocacy for deaf young people on different issues
  • FREE learn British Sign Language club for any deaf young people under the age of 30.


Training and Outreach
DEX also works with schools, colleges, organisations, and businesses. They offer:

  • Deaf awareness training
  • British Sign Language training
  • Consultancy to help services become more deaf‑friendly
  • Free outreach sessions explaining the support DEX can offer


Who Can Join?

  • Anyone aged under 30 with any level of hearing loss
  • Activities take place across Yorkshire
