There is lots of support available to support you during your hospital stay or to attend appointments. 

If you do not feel you are getting the extra support or the reasonable adjustments you require are not being put in place for your visit to the hospital please contact the Patient and Liaison Service

Visiting the Leeds Children's Hospital

If you or someone you support is visiting Leeds Children's Hospital, we know you will have lots of questions.

Visiting one of the Leeds Teaching Hospitals

If you are visiting one of the other Leeds Teaching Hospitals whether to attend an outpatient appointment or for a stay in hospital as an inpatient follow this link Patient & Visitors to find information about attending hospital, where to go and what to bring with you.

Learning Disability and Autism Team

If you are visiting one of the Leeds Teaching Hospitals and have a learning disability and/or Autism diagnosis or you support someone who does, The Learning Disability and Autism Team are available to offer advice and support whilst accessing any of the Leeds Teaching Hospitals services. The Learning Disability and Autism Team also support the staff at the Leeds Teaching hospitals to understand what reasonable adjustments are and to have discussions with individuals, their carers and paid carers to identify how they can be appropriately supported whilst accessing any of our services.

Visiting Red Kite View

If you, or someone you support, is visiting Red View Kite, Leeds and York Partnership Foundation Trust Hospitals Children and Young People’s Mental Health Inpatient Service (or CYPMHS), a specialist inpatient mental health service for children and young people aged 13 -18 and their families based across West Yorkshire, follow this link Leeds and York Partnership NHS Foundation Trust to find out more about what you can expect and the support you will receive.

Health passport

The health passport is offered to everyone with a diagnosis of autism or a learning disability and is available to all community services in Leeds.

People with learning disabilities are encouraged to complete their health passport and share it with the hospital staff as they are going into hospital for an admission or attending an outpatient appointment.

The passport can also be sent to the Learning Disability & Autism team to be uploaded onto their system.
