Fast Forward Vocational Training

Fast Forward offers practical learning and training for young people who enjoy hands‑on activities, especially mechanics and motor vehicles. All learning includes support for social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs.

Fast Forward provides enrichment activities, such as go‑karting. These sessions can be changed to match a learner’s interests.

Pre‑16 provision (ages 14 to 16)

Fast Forward supports learners in Years 8 to 11. Young people attend one day per week. Learning combines practical work with core subjects.

Learners can work towards:

  • motor vehicle and engineering learning
  • STEM subjects
  • Functional Skills in English and Maths

This provision is for young people who prefer practical learning and need a varied timetable.

Post‑16 provision (ages 16+)

Fast Forward also supports young people aged 16 and over with SEND and/or SEMH needs. Learners attend three days per week.

Learning includes:

  • motor vehicle and mechanical training
  • English and Maths
  • personal, social, and emotional support
  • on‑site work experience

Learning takes place in real work settings, such as go‑karting sites. This helps young people build skills like teamwork, communication, safety awareness, and confidence.

Fast Forward aims to help young people gain skills for adult life, further education, training, or work.
