Assistance Dogs UK

Assistance Dogs UK (ADUK)
Assistance Dogs UK is a group of 14 charities.
These charities train and support assistance dogs.
ADUK itself does not train dogs.
All dogs trained by ADUK member charities follow high welfare and training standards.

What an Assistance Dog Is
An assistance dog is trained to help a disabled person.
The dog can do tasks and give alerts to help keep the person safe and independent.

Over 7,000 disabled people in the UK use an assistance dog.
These dogs help with everyday tasks and give emotional support and independence.
Some assistance dogs in the UK are trained by groups that are not ADUK members.

Who ADUK Members Support

Disability: ADUK members support people with many different health needs.
This includes physical disabilities and mental health conditions.
Age: ADUK members may work with children or adults.
This depends on each charity.
