Staying well and healthy

Health services available to young adults.

As young people move to adulthood we want them to keep themselves safe and healthy and know what health services are available to support them - including mental health services, and how to access what they need to maintain or achieve good health and well-being.

Shine Bright (NS) CIC - WRAP (Wellness Recovery Action Plan) Peer Support and Recovery Programme

Contact the service to find out what the current group offer is. This will depend on funding and whether a group has closed its recruitment round.

The WRAP Group is a 12-week wellbeing programme for children, young people, and young adults up to the age of 25 who are finding their mental health difficult.

The group helps young people learn ways to stay well, feel safe, and build confidence. During the programme, participants create their own Wellness Plan and Crisis Plan to help them understand what supports their wellbeing and what to do when they need extra help.

The group also gives young people the chance to meet others, make friends, and support each other in a safe and welcoming environment.

Sessions take place on a Tuesday or Thursday evening from 6.30pm to 8.30pm at a venue in Leeds. The programme is designed to be fun, supportive, and engaging. It helps young people feel less isolated, less anxious, and more confident.

After completing the programme, young people can continue attending an ongoing peer support group. Some participants may also have the opportunity to train as volunteer Peer WRAP Facilitators and help support future groups.

Shine Bright accepts referrals from young people, families, professionals, and organisations. Organisations that would like to discuss a WRAP group for a specific group of young people can contact Shine Bright for more information.
