The majority of children and young people in Leeds who attend specialist provisions do so within the Leeds area – there are occasions where some children and young people attend special schools currently outside of the Leeds area.
A list of all independent schools and special post-16 institutions for children with special educational needs or disabilities (SEND) approved under section 41 of the Children and Families Act 2014 in England and Wales can be found at – parents can request a school/setting on the section 41 list to be named in their Child/Young persons EHCP.
